Balise number 1 of the Berliet expedition in the area of today's Djanet airport. The Berliet-Ténéré mission of 1959-1960 was a two-phase expedition across the Sahara organised by the truck manufacturer Berliet. It began in November 1959 and led from Djanet in Algeria via the Ténéré tree and the Termit massif to Lake Chad and Fort-Lamy (today N'Djaména in Chad) through the Sahara. The return route was via Bilma and the Djado Plateau back to Djanet. - Algeria - 1975
