Indian woman from the Guatemalan village of Tactic with her youngest child. Mayan women are excellent mothers. They are always immensely devoted to their children. A birth is always eagerly awaited and gives rise to a joyful celebration in which all members of the community participate. The upbringing is exemplary. The little Indians are included in the life of the adults at an early age, taught traditional actions and taught to obey the sacred old laws of their group. - 1977
