At the entrance to Enneri Blaka, a dry wadi in the Djado plateau in north-eastern Niger. It is located in the northern extension of the Kaouar Valley, which is known for its salt flats and oases such as Bilma. In its surroundings are numerous rock paintings and prehistoric relics, as well as a rock formation known as the "submarine". The Enneri Blaka ends in the large sand desert of Ténéré. Balise number 1 of the Berliet expedition in the area of today's Djanet airport. The Berliet-Ténéré mission of 1959-1960 was a two-phase expedition across the Sahara organised by the truck manufacturer Berliet. It began in November 1959 and led from Djanet in Algeria via the Ténéré tree and the Termit massif to Lake Chad and Fort-Lamy (today N'Djaména in Chad) through the Sahara. The return route was via Bilma and the Djado Plateau back to Djanet. - Algeria - 1975
