Aletsch Glacier

The largest glacier in the Alps (23.6 km long and around 117.6 km2 big in 2001) flows at a speed of 200 meters a year. The climate change is threatening to melt 80% of the alpine glaciers. (Aletsch Glacier, Valais, Switzerland)

Landscape in Tadrart

Landscape in Tadrart (southeast of Tassili n´Ajjer, in south Algeria). The nomads say that one must love the desert but one must never trust it.

Backong traditional chapati

A young nomad woman from Barbati in the Thar desert, baking traditional Indian bread called chapati. It rains less than 200 mm a year in this part of the Rajasthan region.

Landscape Arch

Landscape Arch is the longest of the many natural stone bridges that have formed throughout thousands of years in Arches National Park, US state of Utah, thanks to the combined effect of erosion and the differences in night and day temperatures.
