From the Arab and Spanish horses brought to America by early European immigrants, who crossbred them with Thoroughbreds, the «Quarter-Horse» is particularly well suited to the terrain and climate of the Rocky Mountains. Here we see cowboys gathering wild horses on the largest ranch in Canada (Douglas Lake, British Columbia).

«The most dangerous eight seconds» of all sports! Bull Riding entails staying on the back of a spirited and vengeful bull, enraged by a rough rope wrapped round its lower abdomen. There are countless cowboys who are injured, disabled and sometimes killed in this event (Ponoka Stampede, Alberta, Canada).

“True” cowboys don’t really participate much in rodeo shows and prefer to spend their summers herding. Lodged at a high camp, they are not allowed to bring their wives – if they have one. Perhaps that is why Terry shows his whole affection to his cat, Misty. (Rapsberry Camp, Douglas Lake Cattle Ranch, British Columbia, Canada)
