The famous Nazca Lines in the Peruvian coastal desert are huge prehistoric geoglyphs depicting geometric shapes and animal figures. The lines were created between 500 BC and 500 AD by the ancient Nazca culture by removing dark stones to reveal the lighter soil beneath.
