Niger - Djado - Enneri Blaka. Site 5. - Vue typique d'un habitat néolithique dominant la vallée et son cours d'eau. Il s'agit d'un abri sous roche dont le sol garde des meules dormantes, des traces d'aiguisage. Des éclats de céramique sont parsemés au pourtour de l'abri. L'abri mesure 19 m de large, 7 m de profondeur et le plafond est à 3 m.

Niger - Djado - Enneri Blaka. Site 10 - L'abri vu de l'intérieur mesure 9,60 m de largeur. Au fond, derrière les montagnes, se trouve le « Sous-marin du Blaka ». Au plafond, on observe un éléphant rouge/rose ; en outre remarquer encore des bovidés, une bête montée ... Les sites 7 et 9 se situent dans les rochers en face.

Libye - Tadrart Acacus - Ouan Amil. - Paysage typique de l'Acacus avec deux grands abris profonds. Il faut imaginer l'eau vive, l'herbe, les arbres, les hommes et leur bétail pour lui rendre vie.

Algerie - Tassili-n'Ajjer - Jabbaren - En bordure d'un reg, un abri dont le fond est constitué par la tranche d'une roche tendre attaquée par l'érosion de l'eau et du vent. Ce sont les portions de rocher formant plafond à hauteur d'homme qui ont conservé le plus de peintures rupestres.

Algerie - Tassili-n'Ajjer - Séfar - On voit, ici, des chèvres ou des moutons attachés «à la corde». Ce qui leur donne une impression d'ordre étonnante. En dessous, il y a une structure rouge prolongée vers le bas par des traits en V. On voit aussi des archers esquissés au trait peint puis des personnages dans une structure rouge, des bovidés et des archers plus tardifs traités en gris foncé. Diamètre du cercle : 0,25 m.

Algerie - Tassili-n'Ajjer - Tan-Zoumaïtak - Le superbe abri de Tan-Zoumaïtak auquel Henri Lhote attribue 28 m². On y reconnaît les peintures saisies par les photos précédentes. Cet abri en forme de coupole était digne d'inspirer des sentiments religieux.

«La Cueva de las Manos» ist ein schwer zugängliches Abri oberhalb des Río Pinturas, zwischen Bajo Caracoles und Perito Moreno in der argentinischen Provinz Santa Cruz. Die Bedeutung der Hände ist nicht geklärt, ist jedoch sicher magischen Charakters. Die Malerei gehört zum Kreis der Toldense-Kultur, deren Alter bis auf etwa 8000 v. Chr. zurück geschätzt wird. Sie gehören heute zum Weltkulturerbe. - 1973

Dhar Tichitt is a Neolithic archaeological site in the south-western Saharan region of Mauritania. It is one of several settlement sites along the sandstone cliffs in the area. The cliffs were inhabited by farmers and pastoralists from about 4500 B.C. and lasted until about 2300 B.C. This area is one of the oldest known archaeological settlement sites in the western part of Africa. About 500 stone settlements were scattered throughout the region in the former Saharan savannah. In addition to raising livestock (e.g. cattle, sheep, goats), the inhabitants hunted, fished, gathered wild cereals and cultivated rush millet. - View of a wind-eroded rock from a grotto. - Mauritania - 1970

The large abri with paintings at site 10 of Enneri Blaka in the Republic of Niger is another example of the localities that attracted Neolithic people. We have already shown the exterior view of the rock niche from site 10 in Enneri Blaka in the previous picture. Here is the view from the inside. Note at the top left the edge of the large painting with the cattle facing the motionless and barren desert. The cave opens towards the southeast, and from there you can see the other bank of the Enneri. This remarkable site is one of a succession of eight sites, all discovered by the Blaka expedition led by Maximilien Bruggmann in 1968. - Enneri Blaka - Niger - 1968
