The province of Corrientes is one of the most agriculturally fertile in Argentina. This is thanks to a climate whose temperatures always remain within pleasant limits and a rainfall that reaches 1800 millimetres in certain years. This zone in the north of the country also includes the province of Misiones. There are many population centres there. The inhabitants plant tobacco, rice, coffee, tropical fruits and hierba mate. But they also engage in cattle breeding. The large rivers allow some of the transport to be done by water. One only has to think of the Uruguay, which is 1812 kilometres long and twelve kilometres wide at its mouth. The abundance of rain has created numerous swamps and marshes, which have become a paradise for countless species of water birds and wild animals, an Eldorado for every nature lover.
