Tadeo Escalante (1807-1832), de l'école de peinture du Cuzco, est l'auteur des fresques murales d'Acomayo, récemment découvertes. Ce peintre métis, mais descendant de l'Inca Atahuallpa, décora l'intérieur de sa maison natale, dite Molino de los Incas, des quatorze portraits des dynastes impériaux. Ici, ceux de Mayta Capac, Capac Yupanqui et Inca Roca.
