The coati or pizote is one of the best represented mammals of the fauna of the lowland and tropical regions of Central America. It is an extremely friendly animal that the natives like to keep at home. A real clown of the forest, it amuses people with its games and facetiousness, accompanied by its characteristic high-pitched cries. - 1977
