In front of a traditional mud hut, two women are spinning yarn on a charkha, a hand-operated spinning wheel. Hand spinning is a deeply rooted craft tradition in Rajasthan. One hand turns the drive wheel, whilst the other hand draws out the fibres (usually cotton or wool) into a fine thread and winds it onto the spindle. – Khuri – 1990
