This structure is Junagarh Fort in Bikaner. It is regarded as one of the most impressive and best-preserved fortresses in India, as, unlike many other forts in the region, it was never captured by enemies. It was built between 1588 and 1593 under Raja Rai Singh. It is constructed mainly from red sandstone, which is typical of Rajasthani architecture. A massive, 986-metre-long wall with 37 bastions surrounds the complex. – 1990
