Guardamonte - The landscapes in Northwest Argentina are more mountainous and the vegetation is harsher than in the pampas. To deal with prickles and thorns, the gaucho equips his horse with a double layer of rigid, resistant leather called guardamonte, which gives him the appearance of a medieval warrior. (Campo Alegre, Province of Salta).

Ténéré / Témète», the pet Témète», a dog of the breed azawak, precious assistant of the hunter and the shepherd, has its place in the caravan. Its name means : link between men.

Libye - Tadrart Acacus - Teshouinat - «Chasse au mouflon». Une meute de chiens converge vers sa proie. Cinq chiens sont peints en blanc et quatre en rouge, comme le mouflon. En haut à gauche, un archer court vers la bête. Le tableau suppose une grande familiarité de l'auteur avec ce genre de scène. Le gros chien paraît attester l'existence de deux races utilisées par les chasseurs. Largeur du panneau représenté : 0,64 m. (Les photos 232, 234 et 237 proviennent du même abri.)

Algerie - Tadrart - El Beridj - Retour au type d'homme «diabolo». Cette fresque, peinte à l'ocre rouge et à la peinture blanche, se situe dans un abri profond au plafond bas. On y voit des personnages, un cavalier, des chiens, des chèvres ... Un personnage peint en blanc (le «Kokopelli» selon les ethnographes des Indiens) jouant de la flûte. Il mesure 0,15 rn de hauteur.

Algerie - Tadrart - El Beridj - A l'entrée de l'abri, scène de chasse au mouflon. Ce dernier est attaqué par trois chiens, deux rouges et un blanc, dont on ne peut dire si ce sont des sloughis. Du bout de la corne à la queue : 0,20 m.

Algerie - Tassili-n'Ajjer - Séfar - Scène pastorale peinte à l'ocre avec une remarquable précision. Certains bovidés sont des vaches. L'une des bêtes, au centre en haut, est montée par un couple, dont une personne qui se trouve à l'avant tient un objet non identifié. On remarquera le bâton portant avec une lanière enroulée sur toute sa longueur : il est posé en travers des cornes. Dans le coin droit, en haut, un lévrier au museau long, aux pattes de coureur et au bassin étroit renifle le sol. L'archer, en dessous, tient son arc en même temps que deux flèches, ce qui est un geste bien observé. On remarque aussi qu'il porte un pagne.

Algerie - Tassili-n'Ajjer - Tin-Aboteka - Bête indéterminée, peut-être un chien. La queue est hautement fantaisiste. Une denticulation de l'ensemble du contour correspond aux poils de l'animal probablement récent et dont l'âge doit être donné par les caractères tifinars. Peinture à l'ocre rouge.

Algerie - Tassili-n'Ajjer - Tin-Kani - Bœuf peint en rouge brun et dont la robe est rendue par des lignes courbes assez serrées. Face à lui, deux chiens traitées en blanc. A droite, un homme, en rouge brun, tient un bâton à la main. Largeur du panneau figuré : 0,82 m.

Algerie - Tassili-n'Ajjer - Oum Itouami - Il semblerait que l'artiste ait voulu représenter une scène de chasse. Un mouflon (?) est attaqué par trois chiens. Il a deux flèches ou deux sagaies fichées dans le corps et un lancier portant également une épée au niveau de la ceinture s'apprête à lui lancer son arme. Le lancier mesure 0,14 m de hauteur. Peinture à l'ocre rouge.

An indeterminate animal, perhaps a dog. The tail is highly imaginative. The dentition of the entire outline corresponds to the hair of the presumably younger animal, whose age is indicated by the tifinarian characters. Rock painting with red ochre.
